WHO: Twin Cities Invitational – a community supporting mental and physical health through social interaction, music, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
WHAT: The Iron Axe Event consisting of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar, superfights, and a music concert.
WHERE & WHEN: Everett McClay VFW Post 1296 Official Site (311 W. 84th Street, Bloomington, Minnesota 55420) on June 9th, 2018, at 2:00 pm.
WHY: Efforts of Twin Cities Invitational are dedicated to producing an inclusive event that provides a therapeutic outlet for those suffering mental and physical hardships. We utilize the cultural intersection of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and music to entertain, engage, and inspire a community of people that will support each other during and after the Iron Axe event. The Iron Axe represents the burden of war; the weight the soldier has to carry into combat. A reminder that we all have an iron axe we wield every day. All aspects of the event will contribute to help war veterans and civilians to overcome mental and physical hardships.
The Iron Axe event will include a dual Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Seminar led by Chris Haueter and Tom DeBlass, providing high-level instruction to participants, and thus contributing to improving the craft and building confidence as well as community. The seminar will be followed by twelve BJJ superfights to showcase the art of Jiu-Jitsu at its highest level to inspire the audience and BJJ practitioners (find the full list of superfights participants on www.tcibjj.com). The Iron Axe Event will end with the music concert by Fury Things presenting opportunity for all guests of the event to bond and socialize as well as a chance to showcase and celebrate another form of expression.
The Iron Axe Event welcomes donations to benefit partner foundations: Mission 22 and We Defy Foundation both online (whether at the time of the ticket purchase on the TCI BJJ website or directly to the partners through their websites) and in person at the event on June 9, 2018.
